Question

Replicating from cloud instance to local distribution point breaks packages?

Forum|alt.badge.img+6

When replicating packages from our JAMF Pro 10 cloud instance to a local Distribution Point more often than not the packages will break. Downloading the (replicated) package manually from the DP and trying to install it manually won't work. The installer simply says it's broken.

Any thoughts or similar experiences?

Hello Anders,

I know we have an existing product issue where replicating from a JCDS to an SMB share can cause a size mismatch on the package and can lead to broken packages. Is your distribution point using SMB for replication from your JCDS?

@matt.aebly Hi, Thanks for your quick response.
Yes, we use SMB and HTTP for downloads.
Would it work if we (temporarily) switched to AFP?

That's what we're hearing. I would try the switch to AFP temporarily and see if the replication takes place.

@matt.aebly I switched to AFP and now it works!
I'm confident you'll be able to fix SMB in a future update.
Thanks!
