I am very very confused. On our 10.11.5 MacBooks/Mac-Minis, we are having an issue that they are requiring a password after they go to sleep/screensaver. Our users hate this, therefore they hate me. I'm trying very hard to fix this issue.
I've found the offending toggle button. It's in Security & Privacy, and it's the "require password after sleep/screensaver" option. It's checked on and greyed out, and I cannot modify it. When I remove the MDM, it opens up, and I can modify it again.
I looked in the JAMF Nation forums, and I've seen others complaining about this, and the solution I've found is that the config. profiles for Login window/Security Settings both have "coverage" on this, and combining them as one profile can resolve the issue. It didn't.
So then I tried installing profiles on their own, to see when it locked. My new Security and Privacy/Login window profile did lock it. So I removed it, but it was still locked. Rebooted to be safe... still locked. So, again I removed management (it opened up after), and I re-enrolled. This time without the new combined profile. Well, it locked again, this time when the Finder settings profile installed. Okay... so I added that to my new mega profile too. No luck, still locks the setting.
I'm at a loss. It seems if I want to manage Security/Login window/Finder/Restrictions.... this feature locks, and my users are forced to log in.
Help?
