Hi guys
Does anyone know how to tell Entourage 2008 to use Random signature? I have 8 signatures i have put in the User Template folder and packaged up.
At the moment my set up Applescript has a line
set default signature choice of newExchangeAccount to signature 1
the manual way is to double click the Exchange account in Entourage, click options and under Message options click on the drop down Default Signature to Random.

The easiest way? Upgrade to Outlook 2011. ;-) That feature is native. There are checkboxes next to each sig to choose which ones to cycle through. It's one of the only features that I wish were in OL for Windows but is not.

I don't have Entourage 2008 installed anymore but it may be similar to Outlook 2011's AppleScript command:
tell application "Microsoft Outlook"
set include in random of signature "Signature Name" to true
end tell
This feature was a novelty back in the day when email was new to most users and they enjoyed sending "fortune cookies". Today, it's more of a legacy feature. I'm curious why this is important for your environment. Marketing folks?

Yep some marketing and branding teams without thinking or consulting me about anything let alone the Mac side!
Equally stupid is the guy that agreed to this is in the branding team and is on a Mac!
He goes with what ever he is told that works with Windows and automatically assumes its the same for Mac.
Maybe my hard work is self defeating sometimes as often people don't see the extent of system engineering we have to go to.
