Hey everyone, forgive me if this has already been answered but I couldn't find much on it. We are moving one of our offices and would like the site name in Jamf Pro to reflect the change. Wanted to check and see if there is any risk to renaming rather than creating a new site and migrating everyone over.

What do you all think?

@Mikeness

There shouldn’t be any problems. The objects in the server typically reference each other by their id values and not by name. So changing the name does not change the ID value.

The only instance in JAMF I can think of where the ID is not used is in the search criteria for "is a member of" when referencing other smart groups.
Maybe just check any smart groups that reference by Site Name (if such a thing exists) and make sure these haven't been done in the same way.

Hey Mikeness, just curious what was the outcome of renaming your site?
