Hi Guys,

Just been playing around with Recon on Windows and tried to get the Windows machine to join a Smart Group based upon its OS and it will not join.

Have tried using the full OS name, OS version, and the build number but none of them work.

It was added both via manual enrolment and then also later via a quickadd to see if that made any difference.

Does anybody have any ideas or comments?

Many Thanks
K

Smart groups will only show managed computers. Windows computers cannot be managed. Recon.exe can only be used in Windows for inventory purposes. You can run reports by doing an advanced computer search which WILL show you all computers (managed and unmanaged). You should not rely on a smart group to gather this data.

Thanks @bpavlov for the info and quick reply. :D

I did not know this. Was going to use it to tidy things up but it is not a big deal if I can't do that. :)

Many Thanks
