Software Update via run command: concern for FileVault?

I'd like to add an item to Self Service

Files and Processes, execute command: softwareupdate --install -a -R

Is that right?
Do I need to be worried about automated restarts (the clients are bound to AD, users have mobile accounts, FileVault is on)
