updated application service

Hey all,
I am starting my own team to support our Casper environment, currently I find out what programs need to be updated manually. but i might miss something every now and then.

does anyone know of a service (I'm willing to pay) that emails when a certain piece of software is updated from a list? i was looking at iusethis, but saw a few applications weren't up to date (i.e Office 2011 was listed as 14.2.3 rather than 14.3.2 etc).
This way i can assign a certain update to be packaged to an individual and share the task of packaging applications in our environment. and that we also keep up to date with all software releases, from Firefox to Office etc.

what do you currently use in your environment if you dont know of a service like this? anyone try the macupdate application etc?

let me know what suggestions you might have!

Cheers Guys!

Rusty

@russell.kenny Just a thought, maybe reach out to Misha to see if there's an enterprise offering for their MacUpdate applications? Their MacUpdate application is for consumers, and it only checks what you've got installed, and no it ain't perfect, but its intent seems somewhat along the lines of what you're looking for?

Perhaps members of your new team could be designated to provide the 'service' ?
I typically take a quick scan of these sites every morning with my first cup of caffeine and rarely miss anything...
