Hi Everyone,

We restrict Disk Images through Config Profile. This restriction does not allow the macOS upgrades through Installer app because its blocks mounting the DMG.

Any alternate ways to upgrade the macOS without allowing DMGs?

Thanks & Regards,

Karthikeyan

@karthikeyan_mac No, the macOS installer requires the .dmg so you need to figure out a mechanism to remove your restriction Configuration Profile to run the install. As I recall that restriction used to require a restart after removal before you could mount a .dmg. Is that still the case? If it takes effect immediately you could use a flag file on the Mac, and EA to detect that flag file, and a Smart Group which uses that EA to determine membership, and use that Smart Group as an exception to your restriction profile to remove it when you want to run a macOS installer.

@sdagley Thank you for the information. Yes restart required after the restriction change.
