VM Fusion permissions headache

Not applicable

Hi everyone,

I'm wrestling with a permissions issue with my VMware Fusion XP image that
I'm hoping someone can shed some light onto. I followed the JAMF-provided
whitepaper and thought I had done everything correctly. But after a few
tries of packaging the XP image, I'm still seeing weird errors. As it
stands now, permissions on the XP image are set to 777 (third try; the first
two were 755 and 775 respectively).

Any ideas? See the attached screenshot.

Thanks
Dave

The following terminal commands has worked for me when placing a shared
virtual machine in the user folder.

Chown R root:staff /Users/Shared/VM/WinXPPro.vmwarevm
Chown R 775

I haven't looked over JAMF's whitepaper. I am not sure if they recommend
adjusting the owner and group of 'whatevername.vmwarevm'. Within Composer,
set the owner to 'root' and the group to 'staff'. Be sure to apply to all
enclosed items.
