Are all apps in User Installed Apps put on the by the user? How do I remove these apps?

I've noticed that if I remove an app from a device it ends up in the user installed app section.

 

How do I stop this from happening and how do I remove the apps?

 

Any clarification on user installed apps would be great!

I am unfamiliar with User Installed Apps on iPads. I do not believe they can be removed remotely and must be removed on the device itself. Everything after this is about macOS devices.

For macOS devices, User Installed Apps is misleading name, as everything not installed by Jamf School is lumped into that list. This includes system apps. The items it lists are the apps' Bundle IDs.

If you ever notice an app that needs to be removed, it won't be an easy button press. You will need to use the scripting module and scope a script accordingly. I wrote a script for the purpose of removing unwanted apps and posted it for anyone to use:
