What is the recommended workflow for the following scenario?

I would like to use the mass action update command on specific sets of iMac labs. However, the current configurations were developed a while ago and without the use of pre-stage enrollment.

I have looked over the documentation (here) and have confirmed:

  1. that the mass action is the scenario from the workflow chart that I want (retains data and is for minor updates)
  2. that the mass action update command only works on machines enrolled through DEP (or it's newer name/version)

Most of the machines in question appear to have been added manually/semi-manually via QuickAdd packages.

What would be the best approach moving forward with these existing machines? I would like to ensure that data is retained, but also that all available mass action commands are available.

Note: Any new machines now come through our Automated Device Enrollment instance--so hopefully this scenario can be avoided in the future.
