I have noticed that since upgrading to JSS 9.11 some our packages are not installing properly.

The packages that are not installing are vendor provided, non-flat packages. Flat Packages made with composer install fine.

I receive a "Failed to download files from http://JSS/CasperShare/Packages/PACKAGE.pkg/index.bom." error.

I have checked permissions.

If I install via AFP the package install properly. They also used to install fine over http on JSS 8.7x

We currently run a single AFP/HTTP File Share Distribution Point.

It seems that the JDS is the way of the future as it is installed by default in new installations. Should I swap our File Share Distribution Point to a JDS?

Thanks,

Marcus.

Did you "Migrate" your packages? Take a look at this KB: https://jamfnation.jamfsoftware.com/article.html?id=327

I was told by JAMF that this makes non-flat packages play nicely with HTTP file share distribution points (especially ones running on IIS) and the JDS in Casper 9.
