I'm noticing a weird behavior with Casper 7.31 and now with v8...

Our image has a dummy file loaded in during the image process, then I
have a smart group that checks for that file. Then I have MCX settings
that run off that smart group.

The odd behavior is that machines will randomly drop the smart group.
The one system that it just happened to is in my office and has been
sitting idle this whole week (I haven't manually done anything). The
last policy ran yesterday, and the last inventory update was run this
morning.

I signed into it a few minutes ago... and closed down terminal, and
shortly thereafter I got an email the box was dropped from the smart
group.

So I repushed the dummy file and ran an inventory and it re-added.

It's odd that it happened on 1 system... but what I find more odd is
that it has happened on about 8 machines imaged by various
technicians... every one of them reports not touching the system at the
time it drops. But if I re-push the dummy file it's fine.

The only thing I can think of is an application that gets loaded messes
it up...

Checked the logs - at the time around it happened...

I had com.apple.securityServer[22] Killing auth hosts... session
destroyed....

Then jamf runs the every 15 trigger - delays for 17 seconds, then checks
the every 15 trigger. At that point it's passed the time of the email
notification.

Am I going crazy?

I have seen and dealt with this before in a few different occasions. I've never been able to pin it down specifically but its definitely support ticket material if you haven't opened one up already.
