given you can get the 10.9.1 updates as .pkg files here http://support.apple.com/downloads/# what does createosxinstallpkg give you?

If I'm not mistaken, CreateOSXInstallPKG isn't for OS updates, its for creating an entire OS installer.

yep- its an easy way to include a few custom packages with a base installer that can be easily deployed via self service for in place upgrades to mavericks.

I built one last night with 10.9.1 and have been testing with no issues, looks like it is good to go.

I tested the forked image for the late 2013 15" rmbp with autodmg, and it worked. day 0, it didn't pick up the patches (ibooks, ard371 client, and iTunes 11.1.3), but the next day it did. I posted on his git, and he said that I could have just refreshed profiles and it would have picked them up on day 0...

Anyway, I did a couple deployments with his autdmg and they were fine.

I've built a package with the 10.9.1 base installer and CreateOSXInstallPKG. It's in "public beta" available in Self Service to those in our TechOps department, and has deployed several times without issue. In the new year we're going to begin rolling it out company-wide. Given how many violations of the Restricted Software entry for the Mavericks installer we're getting, I think people will be pretty excited.
