We currently use Firefox ESR 17.0.8 to access some business applications that are not compatible with Safari. After updating to Mavericks, when attempting to access a website via Firefox, I experienced the following error:
Alert - Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory..."
Essentially webpages are inaccessible after this error is displayed. To resolve the issue, i delete the cert8.db located at the following location:
~Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/oqp1ahur.default/cert8.db
Once the cert8.db file is recreated, the browser works as expected. Interestingly, the same issue occurred after updating to 10.9.1.... has anyone else experienced this issue?
