Hi-
Is anyone else getting these errors on logs?
010-02-17 05:41:05.114 installer[2482:3123] PackageKit: *** Missing bundle
identifier: /Library/Receipts/Flip4Mac Web Plugins.pkg
This is one that I get frequently. I also get it for our Cisco VPN client.
It seem to happen more on 10.6 machines but I've seen a few 10.5 machines do
it as well. The policy that I have this particular entry on actually
completed successfully but because of this, the policy shows up as failed
(and I subsequently get an alert). This is kind of annoying when I'm pushing
something out to 700 machines and get 500 error messages but they're all
bogus.
Does anyone know why Casper even cares? I know exactly what it's looking
for... In every package (or metapackage) there's an Info.plist file. This
tells the package basic stuff like install location options, if it needs a
reboot, admin or root authorization etc... There's a flag in there for
CFBundleIdentifier and it's expecting something in the
com.apple.<productname> format. These bundles apparently don't have them and
Casper is throwing a hissy over it.
Ideas?
