I wanted to get some clarification on whether Casper needs to have Remote Login enabled in Sharing pane of System Preferences. We don't use Casper Remote and would not need to SSH in to any of our Macs.
Does Casper still need it enabled to administer policies, etc?

No, Casper does not require Remote Login enable to manage Macs via policies only. In addition to losing the use of Casper Remote, you also lose the use of Recon to inventory/enroll machines remotely.
