I am trying to set up imaging for machines. In general, we have no issues with JSS or JDS in terms of uploading, downloading, or replicating packages. JDS and JSS are both on Centos. The Netboot server is on a Mac. I created the computer image and uploaded it and made a netboot set with JAMF netboot set tool.

When I netboot and attempt to image a machine, the imaging fails with the error:

"There was an error mounting the file server https://ourjds.example.com/CasperShareDAV/"

I tried switching the netboot set to HTTPS, instead of NFS, but the issue persists. And I also turned off iptables on the JDS to eliminate firewall issues. I can reach https://ourjds.example.com/CasperShareDAV" via browser, but it rejects any JDS or JSS credentials I use. I'm not sure if that is a red herring or indicative of the problem.

Any suggestions on what to try next?

It sounds like you're having trouble with the SSL cert for the JDS. Anytime I've had that problem, it's because the SSL cert is a self-signed cert on the JDS and the NetBoot NBI set does not have the proper certificate.

The way around it is to open Safari while NetBooted, visit your JDS at http://your.jds.com. When the certificate warning comes up, add the cert to your system, and then go into Casper Imaging and image your machine.

if you are netbooting and trying to image via JDS, there is also a Python Script that you have to run on your JDS to basically make it an AFP share. not sure if you have that covered, but worth mentioning. Truly sucks that JAMF sells us JDS solution, and doesn't work as advertised out of the box. I am strongly considering going back to standard DPs in my infrastructure.
