I have two Mac Mini OS X servers running OS 10.8.2 (File sharing mainly and NetBoot/NetInstall)

Actually using them as DP (Distribution Points) for JAMF JSS.

Have been using one server as the primary NetBoot/NetInstall server, and it works great. Have our own switch, same subnet. (Have Helper IP, so I can go across subnets, working fine).

I want to enable / utilize the NetBoot/NetInstall services on the second server (backup / fail over), just in case the first server goes down, etc.

Simple test: Turned off the NetBoot/NetInstall services on the first server and turned them on on the second server. Have the .nbi files in NetBootSPO folder and the image is fine showing up with a green dot in NetInstall.

For some reason, this second server will not present the NetBoot/NetInstall services / drives at bootup (Option key).

Even if I plug the client Mac directly into the switch, so it is same subnet.

Thanks,

John K

Since these are identical .nbi's, do you have them setup with the proper index numbers? They should both be identical over and above 4096.

Figured it out. NetBoot, System Image Utility. OS X version builds have to match exactly.
