JSS 9.82 and OSX 10.11 now allows us to deploy VPP apps straight to a Mac with no messy AppStore logins or user intervention.

THANK YOU JAMF

Now, is it possible to then remove the app automatically?

I successfully got Text Wrangler to install silently, but then when I removed the mac from the scope the application stayed on the Mac.

Is this because it's a free app?

We have lots of paid apps that ideally would like to convert from codes to MDM, but as they are paid we need to be able to remove them.

I'd convert your codes to managed distribution now, don't worry about when it's uninstalled from a computer, let Apple worry about that. When an app is unscoped, I believe the user will be notified after a certain amount of time and the app will remove itself.

Were you able to verify if there is a waiting period before the user is notified and the app removed? I've only been playing with this for a week so far.
