Hello everyone, I come in search of a glimmer of hope.

I am trying to use BeyondCorp Enterprise to enroll iPads on Jamf and be able to use G Suite with users under an advanced OU (Organizational Unit).

Now, among the needs declared by Jamf, there is "Basic iOS mobile management enabled for your organization's Google integration."

Has any of you ever managed this with the settings set to "advanced"? I fear it might not be feasible.

Hi adminwannabe,

Good news — based on Google's documentation, this should be feasible.

Google's official documentation for third-party partner integrations explicitly states:

"For mobile devices, set up basic mobile management or turn on advanced mobile management. If you're not sure which one to use, ask your third-party partner."

This confirms that Google supports both Basic and Advanced mobile management for third-party MDM integrations like Jamf + BeyondCorp.

Why Jamf may mention "Basic":

The "Basic iOS mobile management" mentioned in Jamf's prerequisites is likely the minimum requirement, not the only option. When Advanced is enabled, users must install the Google Device Policy app and may receive additional Google MDM profiles. Jamf may call out "Basic" to avoid potential confusion or overlap, since Basic doesn't require any Google agent on the device — but this doesn't mean Advanced won't work.

Suggested approach:

  1. Test with a pilot group first — Before rolling out broadly, test with a small group of users/devices in your Advanced OU to confirm the integration works as expected.
  2. Verify the data flow — After setup, check in Google Admin > Devices > Mobile & endpoints > Devices that Google is receiving compliance data from Jamf for your test devices. The device should show as "Managed by Jamf" under third-party services.
  3. Open a Jamf Support case if issues arise — If you encounter problems, Jamf Support can confirm whether there's a specific conflict with Advanced settings.

Since Google explicitly supports both options for third-party integrations, you should be able to proceed. Let us know how it goes!
