Has anyone had any luck in blocking the Games app? The only thing that appears under “Restrictions>Apps” is Game Center and that does not block the new app.

This happened when they introduced the Freeform app as well. At the time we found and used the Bundle ID for Freeform allowed you to block the app. I looked at the current listing on Apple’s website and I don’t see a bundle ID for the new games app. I did a search and found ‘com.apple.games’ as the bundle ID for it. See if adding that to your block list works for you.

Good luck!

Welp… my test just proved that it won’t work with Jamf School at least. The native app doesn’t show anywhere in the Block List’s “Add Application” search nor is it in the “Default applications” list. We may have to be waiting for it to filter through the system. You could put in a ticket to Jamf and/or Apple to see if it can get added.

I’m going to test this Bundle ID on an iPad right now on Jamf Pro.

UPDATE: Using the Bundle ID com.apple.games worked on Jamf Pro.

What about the Phone app? Looks like the bundle identifier is

com.apple.mobilephone

That bundle identifier worked for me as well.
