Does anyone know if we will have the ability to get the new Creator Studio through ASM? I have a department head who has previously bought Final Cut for multiple labs using his personal apple id, and signed into EVERY SINGLE MAC using his ID, then signing out just to download Final Cut, With the new Creator Stuido, it would be much cheaper and we might be able to use a managed apple id.

No, Apple Creator Studio subscriptions cannot be purchased or deployed through Apple School Manager. ASM does not support subscription-based purchases.

The method your department head previously used (signing into each Mac with a personal Apple ID to download the app) might technically still work with a Creator Studio subscription, but this approach may violate Apple's licensing terms and policies.

I am not wanting to deploy the subscription through ASM I am wanting to deploy just the Apple Creator Studio APPLICATIONS.

(We have no problem manually signing in each computer that will use it to an Apple ID).

Also I am very well aware that it might violate the terms of service. We previously did not manage Apple devices as we are a primarily Windows district.  As soon as we discovered this, we reported it and this summer we will be using Jamf to prevent users from signing into prevent or change Apple IDs(If the application needs an ID for a subscription, we will sign it in, then lock it so the ID can’t be changed.

That approach is technically feasible. Once you've signed in with the Apple ID and downloaded the apps, you can use a Restrictions configuration profile in Jamf Pro with the allowAccountModification key set to false to prevent users from changing or removing the Apple ID.

Note that this restriction requires macOS 14 (Sonoma) or later and the devices must be supervised.

Yes I already have profiles made with that modification.  My question is… Can I deploy Creative Studio from Apple School Manager?  Can I deploy anything Creative Studio Related from Apple School Manager?

Actually we have already read the legal documents and determined our best course of action would be to just use the VPP program for Final Cut.  The department head is gonna blow a gasket but that's not our problem.

No, unfortunately ASM doesn't support subscription-based purchases, so Apple Creator Studio cannot be deployed through it. The individual apps (Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, etc.) are still available as one-time purchases through ASM Apps and Books, which is the route you're taking.

It's frustrating when licensing limitations get in the way — thanks for doing the due diligence on the legal side.
