Everytime  I try to delete an old smart group or static group that happens to be in scope of multiple policies I  then have to go to each policy and remove it from scope first and then I'm able to delete it.

There's gotta be a better way to do this.

Is there a feature request or something that will allow me to delete it without having to remove it from a bunch of policies first?

It's a big waste of time.

Add a checkbox for the user to select to allow removal from any policy the group is in.

Apologies that it isn’t really an explicit solution to your woes, but the community here informed me about Jamf Extender.  This makes it super easy for me to find the groups that are completely unused, and the ones that are nested, and from the Smart Computer Groups screen you can click the ones that are targeted and it will list all the stuff that they are Scoped to.  This is GREAT!

Not having this feature to delete a smart or static group  that's in multiple policies on one delete approval is real stupid.

Like it currently does, continue to Show all the groups that the group is scoped to and give a warning that deleting the group will remove it from these policies.  User can choose YES or NO.

Sometimes having to go individually to 7,8,9 policies to individually remove a group is a real waste of time and stupid.

I’m inclined to guess that it’s designed that way to “baby-proof” Jamf to keep the Junior Admins from making a huge mistake.  :-)

Check your settings under system “Impact Alert Notifications” There may be something there.
