I noticed something weird there. For colleague X “Mac Apps” says her Chrome is up2date. But looking at her Macbook and at “Patch Management” she is a whole bunch of Chrome updates behind. Any idea where this comes from?
+26Sometimes the JAMF app catalog (JAC) can index something wrong (more times than not, VSCode shows there’s an update from JAC but it’s already up to date).
If you’re willing to change your approach for Google Chrome, enrolling them into Chrome Enterprise Core (formerly CBCM) is the way to go. It leverages the native updater mechanism in Chrome and keeps them up to date…. And it’s free from Google. I have this set as the default update mechanism and if for whatever reason the update doesn’t apply for 30 days, JAC takes over the update forcefully.
