Hi,   I can no longer distribute free apps in JAMF since Apple made the canges in Apple School Manager.  I get errors for every app I try to distribute.   The app shows Failed in JAMF with this error code:

“The operation couldn’t be completed. (AMSErrorDomain error 203.) / The operation couldn’t be completed. (AMSErrorDomain error 203.) / The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be “bag.itunes.apple.com” which could put your confidential information at risk. / The operation couldn’t be completed. (kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork error -1202.)”

I tried to renew the VPP tokens but it did not change anything.  Refreshed many times and synced but not luck.    Any ideas ?

Two separate things are getting mixed together here, and the error code points at the first one.

The -1202 in kCFErrorDomainCFNetwork is NSURLErrorServerCertificateUntrusted — the device doesn't trust the certificate presented for bag.itunes.apple.com. Per Apple Support document 101555, Apple services fail when traffic is HTTPS-intercepted, and content filtering / SSL inspection has to be disabled for *.itunes.apple.com. If your network runs a filter or SSL inspection, test one device off that network (a hotspot is fine) — if distribution works there, that's your answer.

On the license side, after ASM changes like these, check two things: the updated terms in Apple School Manager have to be accepted, and the app licenses have to be assigned to the same Location that your Jamf School content token belongs to. A mismatch there also surfaces as a distribution failure, but it won't produce a certificate error.

If the off-network test still fails with -1202, post the device model/OS and whether the devices are supervised — AMSErrorDomain 203 on its own isn't documented well enough to hang a diagnosis on.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply,   the newest terms available to us were accepted on the the 1.st of October,  no new terms available since then.
Also the licenses are assigned to the same location my content token belongs to.  I have two license tokens at this location - one specifically for that school and another for our district which is shared to all locations.

I am not located near the iPad so I will have to test the network at a better time.

The device is ipad 6 - ios 17.7.11 supervised.
Apps are these,  but any app I try get’s an error.
