All my Mac VMs work fine locally, but when I copy to my ESXi (6.0) server, it can't boot from the HD. Windows VMs work just fine both locallly and on my ESXi server (new mac pro).

So far I've tried coping the NVRAM file from my local VM up to the server VM. I also ran Unlocker 2.0.8 with no difference.

I know a few people here @rtrouton use ESXi and I'm hoping someone has better answers than I found online!

Are you copying them using VMware Fusion 8.x? If so, I have a post on how to fix that issue:

Not sure if this is your issue also, but I just fought with getting my first OSX VM running on ESXi, and came across a site that said something about transferring VMs up to ESXi wouldn't transfer the smc.present setting, and that you needed to manually add it to the advanced configuration.

Bah...naturally it was @rtrouton that said it in a post from a few years ago: https://derflounder.wordpress.com/2014/11/23/managing-esxi-hosted-virtual-machines-using-vmware-fusion-professional/
