Working on setting up a few shared machines and I was asked to force Safari to always be in Private Browsing. Chrome has that ability in the plist but I don’t think Safari has the same. If that isn’t possible, we would also be OK with clearing browsing data when Safari is closed. Is there a way to do either? I haven’t found anything like that on the interwebz. Thanks!

You check for DDM settings for Safari

I hadn’t considered that, thank you. I just searched for that and the closest I could find was a mention of always Allowing Private Browsing which Jamf does already. I need to find a way to always force Private Browsing. Does this exist somewhere else?

@heavymeta80 While Apple has started to add additional configuration options for Safari via DDM there is nowhere close to the level of control offered for Chrome or Edge. If you really need to lock down the browser configuration for your shared Macs you should consider blocking Safari and requiring Chrome or Edge.
