I was creating a configuration profile to setup a webclip that redirects to a URL. I accidentally put a name for the bundle ID: com.apple.webapp with an XYZ name and now Jamf has made that association and has changed or plugged in that XYZ name into all my other profiles that have that bundle ID. This created a bunch of orphan icons on a test device I was working on.

How do I remove remove that? I am working to remove that bundle ID in all my Restrictions profiles, and will have to reset my devices. SOS! I am new to jamf, so def learning as I go.

Honestly I haven’t found a way to do this just yet. Someone set ours to say “Microsoft teams” and it drives me crazy. It doesn’t affect anything from what I can tell, only really a placeholder as we use this for an “allowed app”.

the webclip shouldn’t prompt for a bundle ID? I’m trying to understand what’s happening in your scenario.

@Chubs - Thank you for your response. That’s exactly what’s happening what you explained. When I was setting the web clip to be allowed in the App > Restrictions payload, I unintentionally put a name for that bundle ID as Jaspr. It’s not prompting for anything at this point. It just makes it confusing for the end-user because now they see this web clip icon with the name Jaspr.

Right now for my iPads in production that are locked down to just a web clip, they are able to open it in Safari because I’ve allowed Safari. The original webclip payload for those production iPads don’t appear at all because I’ve removed it as it would replace the icon or name with Jaspr making it confusing for my users.

That program will be ending end of this month so I have until then to figure out how to remove that association in Jamf all together so when I setup new iPads next month for another program that I don’t run into this issue. I realize that I should have just left the name field box blank and just leave the bundle ID filled out with com.apple.webapp.

I hope this makes sense.
