We buy all of our mac's via Apple DEP program, so that our users can have a seamless getting their mac set up. However it sometimes happen that the Enrollment policy simply is never triggered. This just happened again.

In the logs for our Enrollment policy, it simply says "Pending" for this new mac. But this computer has completed setup (except for our custom installs in that policy).

I asked the user to run this command:

sudo jamf policy -event Enrollment

but the mac responded with:

Checking for policies triggered by "Enrollment" for user "xxx"... There was an error. Unknown Error - An unknown error has occurred.

How can I troubleshoot this? I'm starting to be annoyed by these reliability issues.

 

first, i check if the profiles are installed on the machine. for example, if the MDM profile is missing, i simply run the enroll process manually by going to https://yourcompany.jamfcloud.com/enroll - can you try this?

The machine is enrolled. All configuration profiles are on the mac. The only thing that failed was the enrollment profile, where we have depNotify to run a few installations (Jamf Self Service, MS Teams)
