I think its the same for the Macbook Pro 2018 - they also do not boot when a fresh 10.13.6 is imaged on them. I tested this by just setting up the computer out of the box with a dummy admin account, going to the app store and tried to download HighSierra - I got the message that stated something like " the software on the computer is newer than whats in the app store - you can use internet recovery to reinstall if needed".
Also, in terminal if you do a "uname -a" this will out put the Darwin Kernal version you can see there is a difference between my 2016 mac and the 2018 macs
2016: 17.7.0 Darwin Kernel Version 17.7.0: Thu Jun 21 22:53:14 PDT 2018; root:xnu-4570.71.2~1/RELEASE_X86_64 x86_64

If you are trying to image/ enroll with Jamf imaging - just use the OS that came shipped with and in your configuration just take out the OS image ( don't erase the drive) and install everything else right on top.
