Hi everyone,

We’re using Jamf to manage our iPads. After enrolling a device via Prestage enrollment, everything works fine at first — but after some time, the iPad always shows the message “Passcode was changed” and gets locked out.

The user did not actually change the passcode.
Has anyone experienced this issue or know how to prevent it from happening?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thank you!

We haven’t seen this in our environment. Are you managing passcodes via a config profile?

Is the passcode by chance a password for a managed Apple account? Are you using a shared iPad prestage enrollment?

Thank you for your reply.
Oh, I see — yes, we are managing passcodes via a configuration profile.

The affected iPads are not signed in with any Apple Account, and they are not set up as Shared iPads.
However, we are using Okta with Enrollment Customization enabled.
