Hello,

We have an issue where iPads running 26.0.1 are working absolutely fine no issues whatsoever however as soon as they upgrade to 26.1 their internet connection stops working. Devices can be connected to the network no issues and appear to be working fine but you are unable to access the internet and they refuse to talk to JAMF.

I found the following : https://discussions.apple.com/thread/256182709?sortBy=rank which appears to be the same issue.

Wiping the devices hasn’t helped and the problem persists.

Thank you for sharing! I had not seen this yet, and it is a large enough concern to warn my teachers not to end-around my update schedule!

It’s wiped out a huge chunk of our devices so far Jamf have been their usual “helpful” and it’s very slow and painful to get any kind of support from them.

We noticed when re-enrolling a device the issue persists however so far a device that we disabled Jamf Trust on (via config profile) seems to now be ok so it could be something to do with 26.1 and VPN / trust issues

We haven’t seen this issue. @Gazum123 Have you tried connecting the iPads to a hotspot or taken on off-site and connecting to a network?

We have indeed no matter what you try they are unable to get to the internet.  There seems to be something wrong with VPN’s as when wiping a device and leaving it unenrolled from policies it seems to work as soon as a VPN profile is applied they stop communicating (these are VPN profiles that have not been touched for a couple of years and have been well tested.

Have you reached out to Jamf support?

I’m going to guess that this is causing your issue.

We’re using InTune / crowdstrike and have had the same issue.
We have found the following helps (without the need to wipe the device)

That is clever.
If only the built in filtering is utilized or if the filter is controlled by an app and manually deleting apps is disabled that probably will not work.

If disabling content filtering is as easy as deleting an app for temporary filter avoidance, anyone wanting to avoid the content filter would just remove the app so in some cases, deleting the app manually is disabled in which case that wouldn't work.

I assume that’s the case for many schools because kids like to try and be sneaky.
