Is there a way jamf can see who is using a specific tool, such as Apple Intelligence?

Hi all,

We are trying to determine if we can use Jamf to audit which users are actively using Apple Intelligence.

Our hunch is that Apple doesn't log gen AI actions but I was wondering if anyone here might have some specific advice that could help.

Thanks in advance!

There is no way to monitor this that I am aware of in the MDM or Security framework. There is an off chance there are console logs that you may be able to pick up with a log filter, but it’s a long shot at best.

Honestly, I am kind of curious myself now that you ask.

You could try the "scream test" - disable it and see who screams.

I'm using the EA from @dan-snelson https://snelson.us/2024/10/apple-intelligence-extension-attribute/ There's also one from @brunerd that will show if ChatGPT is enabled.  https://github.com/brunerd/macAdminTools/blob/main/Jamf/EAs/OS-Apple%20Intelligence%20ChatGPT%20Status.sh

Thanks! We are going to give this a try.
