is there a way to move Google Drive default folder to a different location

Question

we are going to retire Google workspace, user wants to save a copy of all Google Drv data.

I wonder if there is script/policy we can push down to user's Mac, moving Google default folder to different location, saving a copy of GD files.

CURL would probably get harry with authentication. I would figure Google has an API for this thing. Have you reached out to Google?
