I am having issues with editing random configuration profiles in Jamf Pro.

When I click the name of the profile in the list of profiles, the details of the profile will load. When I click 'Edit' at the bottom, I just get a never ending spinning progress ring and the 'edit' page never actually loads.

Has anyone else experienced this? I tried to search for the topic, but its such a generic search I couldn't find anything related to this specific thing..

On and off for about a year, I have had problems editing the scope of profiles using Safari. At the moment, I can edit scope of profiles with Safari, but it is slower than editing with Chrome. I was told that this is related to a product issue that Jamf is investigating. My hear sinks every time I hear "product issue".

Jamf - PI119962

PI119962 When accessing Jamf Pro via Safari, there is a noticeable delay when typing in the search field when scoping to specific computers, mobile devices, or users.

I use Chrome for scoping. It's faster for me.

So, I can't even edit the profile at all.

When I click edit, I get the rotating progress ring and nothing ever loads. This happens whether I am on the Option, Self Service, or Scope panes. Is this still a part of this PII?

About half of our profiles are affected.

Currently, with Jamf Pro 11.15.1, I am not having issues with scoping profiles. I hope the same will be true for everyone else.

Yeah, much better in Safari now!

We have been experiencing this issue since April, and unfortunately, there is still no resolution in sight. The problem persists across both Edge and Firefox browsers, and using Safari is not an option for us. This situation is extremely frustrating, especially considering that the issue only occurs with a specific configuration profile —one that we are required to globally roll out by next week, we just only need to change the scope :(

We are aware that a new Jamf Pro version is scheduled for release this weekend. However, we are wondering: is it really expected that customers have to wait this long for a fix? Our Jamf Pro instance is hosted in the Jamf Cloud, so we would have hoped for a more timely resolution.

Additionally, we would prefer not to create a completely new configuration profile, as this would involve a significant amount of time and effort on our side.

Is there any kind of workaround or interim solution you can suggest, or is it the solution again to wait? and how can we be 100% sure that this new release is going to solved this problem...

I have an update on our situation:

Working with support, and after a few rounds of calls, they determined a single user account that existed twice in our instance, one with a middle initial and one without, was causing our issue.
I’d like to fully explain since most of the comments evidently didn’t fully understand: We could not EDIT a lot of our profiles. This was NOT a scoping issue, this was NOT a browser issue. You would click “Edit”, using any browser, and you would get an infinite spinning wheel in the center of the pane. The only thing you could do after that is hit back or close the tab.

Support removed the bad user profile during a maintenance window from the backend, and we could immediately begin editing the profiles again.

My staff and I think it’s possible that a change on our side in Azure may have added the users middle initial to his display name may have caused this, but the actual reason is unknown.
