Jamf App CATalog - For Education - Hidden Gem

I wanted to highlight a gem that got burried in the Education State of the Union at JNUC 2025 this year.  It’s the Jamf App CATalog.  I’m still diving into it myself.  Had to chat with ​@Kelly_Conrad to get the low down on this.  Seems it’s released on the app store already.  Just chewing into it myself.

The Quick Start Guide has all the basics and if you find it useful check out the Admin Guide.

Without any configuration the app is in demo mode.  My ears perked up for this as I think our teachers would find it useful to be able to give internal feedback about specific apps.

It was mentioned that there was a way to give feedback through an email but I can’t find that in the app like I was shown.  Maybe I’m missing something.

Anyway, I hope you find this app helpful.  I’m looking forward to learning more about it myself.

Thank you for the kind shout out! I’m so excited you’ve had a chance to open App CATalog and check it out since we had a chance to talk over JNUC! You should be able to see the feedback option under the Information “i” on the top right. Were you able to find that in your version?

I’ll second ​@dletkeman. App CATalog is a hidden gem. I had a chance to beta test it and saw the benefits for teachers looking for apps to add to their curriculum. Thanks ​@Kelly_Conrad for recognizing the need and making it a reality!

​@ktrojano You’re too kind! I’m so glad you were willing to be one of our beta testers and give us feedback this summer. I was chatting with my developer today on what it would take for it to be available for Jamf Pro customers, just in case folks start asking for it and we get permission to do it 😁

​@Kelly_Conrad I don’t see the send feedback.  Here’s my view on the iPad I was testing with.

 

It’s an iPad 6th gen so not as much resolution as some iPads.  I did try scrolling but didn’t see the feedback link.  Also I see my version is 2.0.1 and yours is 2.0.2 but this is a new install and I checked for any updates and I don’t see any through Jamf School.

​@dletkeman Ah, yes that’s exactly it! I forgot I’m on a newer version, sorry. We just submitted the update to be available to the public within 24 hours, so hopefully it’ll be reviewed overnight and live in the morning.
