as per other posts.. tested.. its bobbins.. (other words are available) I'll visit again in 6 months when it works..
I'm not even going to bother trying to test it for a few months. The controls, and monitoring are not anywhere where they need to be for it to be viable. That and JAMF kinda snuck it out the door with minimal documentation. So, ya I'll get to it later.
so many issues so little time - will check it again after an update or 2....
Earlier it was working and now its not connecting and end up with an error "Cannot connect to end user computer. Make sure the computer is online and try again.". Any specific settings to be consider from network side.
Checked off the box in Jamf Settings and deployed the profile. Could never remote into another Mac. Believe I got a register error. Sticking with ARD and ScreenSharing.
Same here, we're excited to hopefully ditch Teamviewer but looks like we need to wait, it doesn't work at the moment.
any updates on this? I am hoping to be able to ditch Teamviewer soon as well but am getting the computer is not registered errors after enabling Remote Assist.
What if you manually installed with the pkg Jamf Remote Assist (/Library/Application Support/JAMF/Jamf.app/Contents/MacOS/JamfDaemon.app/Contents/Resources) ?
Can you try on an other network ?
After Teamviewer fiasko with a hack we refused to use this tool and switched to jamf remote assist . We experience some connection issues and would like to ask your help to figure them out .
I turned this one as per jamf documentation . i can see couple of profiles were installed to my Mac . At first connection did not work giving error about missing app and registration . So i re - installed the app and sent register command . Later it started to work on my test machines were i did the same . For my colleague ( another jamf admin ) it started to work after couple of attempts. Did not need any troubleshooting.
I gave permissions to out helpdesk and support Team to use this , but for them this does not work at all . Connection just spins without giving any errors . At first i was thinking it may have something to do with jamf users permissions so i gave myself helpdesk permissions and tested it out . It worked - so i ruled this out .
any suggestions what to try ?
I can too agree with your post. It did work maybe three times for me in the beginning of 2024, now that we are all on MDM and need assistance, I as an admin cannot remote in through Jamf. It's now September 2024 and the issue is still ongoing. I hope this can get resolved soon. We'd also like to utilize this feature!
JAMF assist pppc seems to be broken, unable to establish a connection with a device already in the fleet.
Good looks like I am not the only one not being able to get a solid working concept of the jamf remote assist. Probably why they buried it in the management tab. Its just talking point for sales.

any luck ?
any luck ?
Not at all. Device profile keeps failing to install and I do not have any block events via the FW either. So im deaming this as still no go. Really upsetting that this feature does not work. Again I think its a talking point for sales and they burry remote button on purpose

Sure thing!
Is there a way to disable this entirely? We aren't using Jamf remote assist, and having the PPC fail on every Mac is annoying.

Yes, you can disable in… security.. we also have a script to bin it all..

Toggling Remote Assist off in settings doesn't turn it off from installing? I have it on in hopes that one day jamf remote assist will work so I havent tried lol.
Jamf really needs to fix this. Its kinda feels like that old XP software "SoftRAM" lol. Didnt do anything just was a mind game that was installed
Very surprised to see this is a rather old issue that still isn't resolved. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, but it seems like Jamf just requires the stars to align a certain way for Remote Assist to work. I've only gotten it to work twice so far.

I have not been able to get it to work at all.
