Summary

An issue has been identified that can affect devices updating Jamf Trust while running iOS/iPadOS 26.1. This post is related to the second scenario described in our previous announcement regarding compatibility issues impacting Jamf Trust in iOS 26.1.

Issue Overview
Devices running iOS/iPadOS 26.1 with Jamf Trust and On-Device Content Filter (ODCF) may experience loss of network connectivity when upgrading to Jamf Trust 11.47.0 or later whilst on unstable or poor networks. During the update, the installation may hang, causing device-wide loss of internet connectivity. Recovery requires a factory reset.
This issue affects any app implementing the On-Device Content Filtering extension on iOS and is not specific to Jamf Trust.

Conditions (all must apply):

  • iOS/iPadOS 26.1
  • ODCF vectoring enabled
  • Jamf Trust updating to 11.47.0+
  • Unstable or poor network during update

Potential Outcomes

  • The Jamf Trust update hangs indefinitely
  • Device loses all network connectivity (not restored by reboot)
  • Factory reset required to restore device functionality

Recommended Actions

  1. Update to iOS/iPadOS 26.2 before updating Jamf Trust. Apple resolved the underlying root cause in iOS/iPadOS 26.2, released on December 12, 2025. Devices running iOS/iPadOS 26.2 should not experience this issue when updating Jamf Trust to version 11.47.0 or any future versions.
  2. Ensure stable network connectivity during updates. If updating to iOS/iPadOS 26.2 is not possible in your environment, ensure devices are connected to a stable network before initiating any Jamf Trust updates. However, we strongly recommend prioritizing the iOS/iPadOS update as the permanent solution.
  3. Test in pre-production environments before broad deployment. Validate the update process in your environment with a subset of devices.
