Hello, I am bringing online a brand new JSS install(OS X server) on a site where it hasn't been in use. I installed the JSS and pointed it to the wrong URL. I specifically didn't add the s in https nor :8443 in the address when prompted. I've found that I can change the address under Settings->Global Management Framework Settings->JSS URL and changed it.



Are there any concerns I should have about having put the incorrect URL in while initializing the software? Aside from my concerns regarding my ability to follow directions.... Thank you.



I could blank the database and start over at this point. Should I though? Or am I just worrying about nothing?

AFAIK, the only thing that address does is tell your enrolled machines where to look for your JSS. As long as you haven't enrolled anything yet, it shouldn't be an issue.

Agreed. There are some other items such as your SCEP service and Self Signed Cert that could be regenerated, APNS services but most likely you didn't get far. If you discovered your error at the beginning, fix as you have described, check your:




  1. SCEP service in Settings->Global Management Framework Settings-> Public Key Infrastructure

  2. Self-signed SSL Cert in Settings->General Settings->Server Configuration-> Website Certificate



It's not "critical" DNS like OS X Server needs DNS.
