My place of business recently purchased Jamf Pro and we are going to be moving about 200 macs from Intune over to Jamf.
I'm not sure where to start. I don't seem to be able to find any articles or documentation about the process. Is this as simple as deleting all of the devices from Intune and then using Apple School Manager to change their MDM to Jamf Pro, or is there something more involved?
I would greatly appreciate any help.
+25@Phinull_Girl If you're going to re-image all of your Macs changing their MDM assignment in Apple School Manager then erasing and re-enrolling would work. I would however check and see if your Jamf Pro purchase included any consulting time with Jamf regarding migrating your Macs rather than re-imaging as the process of migrating is more involved, and if you don't have any previous experience with Jamf Pro you're probably going to want some guidance.

We have no intention of reimaging the Macs and want to avoid anything of the sort all together. It's basically a non-option in this environment.
We did not get the Jamf migration package - there was some unfortunate confusion there that is an entirely different can of worms.

In that case, I'd definitely switch the mdm provider from within ABM / ASM when you are ready to make the switch; that way if a device is reconfigured it would automatically enroll and pick up the prestige settings.
As far as the other Macs; one option that you could use, if you cannot use Automated Device Enrollment; you may want to investigate sending out enrollment invitations and or the enrollment link (*.jamfcloud.com/enroll) , so that your end users could complete the enrollment where possible.
I believe that user initiated enrollment, wouldn't give you all the management abilities; it would give you most of them. Hope that helps,

@Phinull_Girl Jamf does have a public tool for migrating Macs from one Jamf Pro instance to another (https://github.com/jamf/ReEnroller), but as far as I know the tool that Jamf Professional Services uses to migrate from a non-Jamf Pro MDM to Jamf Pro is not public.
I'm going to leave it for someone with actual experience doing a migration from a non-Jamf MDM to Jamf Pro to provide further advice because I'd only be operating on theory at this point, but I will say re-opening the can of worms involved in engaging Jamf's migration services may be your best option for a smooth transition.
