Just after a weekly checkin to see if any os/safari updates are required

You can use tools such as Nudge that will poll to see if theres an OS/Apple apps updates via software update and will inform the user.

it has the ability to configure it so that users are forced (it full screens its splash notification) to update to the specified OS version.

Thanks!

Do you know if a video tutorial is available to set this up?

I'm not aware of one but if you grab the schema from the Github page (with video on how to add it to jamf), it saves a bit of brain ache by making all options visible in the GUI (and can be hidden) and then configured much easier.

Just did a bit of a search and found a video by Buck Crockett on Youtube that gives a good overview of Nudge in conjunction with Erase-Install (a script by Graham Pugh). He has a deep dive into Nudge configuration in his playlists.
