Hi all,

We are testing to enable FileVault (2) on our machines. I have followed a white paper to setup the Casper Suite to enable FileVault via Casper/Self Service and I have noticed that not all machine are FileVault Eligible .

I have no clue why this is. All systems are 10.11.x + We have around 645 Machines and 92 are not FileVault Eligible..

Any insights are appreciated!

@rblaas Check that the 92 have valid recovery partitions.

@rblaas have you verified those 92 machines have Recovery Partitions? Typically that is what will prevent a machine from enabling FV2.

There is an Extension Attribute template, Recovery HD Present, that you can use to determine if there is a Recovery partition.

@stevewood Many thanks!
Indeed, I was missing the recovery partition.
