macOS 16 is actually macOS 26 in System Report

Anyone else already installed the developer beta?

Jamf lists macOS 16 in inventory after an inventory update, but system report shows macOS 26.

I'm guessing this is something with how Jamf is pulling the version from the machine?

Anyone else seeing this?

MacOS 11 was macOS 10.16 in About This Mac until around August. Just apples typical UI/UX teams not communicating.

I don't necessarily want to be that guy, but I feel the need to remind everyone that discussion of any beta software should not be in public forums. Unless the topic was covered in in Keynote (e.g. the new Liquid Glass interface), it is considered to be under NDA. While rumors sites don't adhere to these rules, we should be respectful of the NDA on professional forums, like Jamf Nation.

If you are not a member of the MacAdmins Slack, there is a very active channel for customers that have access to AppleSeed for IT. We do talk a lot about the beta product and the issues we find. It is a great community, if you are not a member yet.
