Just wondering if anyone else is seeing a crash when doing a full scan with Microsoft Defender?



It momentarily pops up a message: "There's a problem with this App."



The link in the message just takes me to the Microsoft Support Site, not to anything specific



The message disappears and the app is reloaded. I can do a quick scan with no issues. OS is Catalina. I'm just in test stage so have only tried on two machines so far.

Turns out there was a bug in Defender. We got in touch with Microsoft Support but the development team must have been aware of the issue as they directed me to try the "Insider Fast" update channel and so get the new version to try.



I did figure out the areas of the disk it was failing on - one was where Mac OS puts the installers it downloads from the App Store and access is very restricted in there


Yes I see the same thing (Catalina 10.15.6). Quick scan works fine, the full scan ends exactly like yours (around 680k files scanned in). Did you manage to solve the issue?
