I can't see the new setting that was deployed in the 11.17RC unless this was pulled?

"Jamf Pro now includes a new page that enables administrators to set Self Service+ as the default application and remove Self Service Classic from managed devices that meet Self Service+ requirements. Self Service Classic remains installed on computers that do not meet Self Service+ requirements. To enable Self Service+ deployment from Jamf Pro, navigate to Apps ⇨ Self Service+, then select "Use Self Service+ as the default end user application."

Hi @Cayde-6, this feature is still being worked on but will be coming soon. We were testing a few things out with 11.17 RC. We are making some changes now and will be releasing this feature soon. Thanks!

so to clarify, will this be a 11.18 feature (i.e should we expect a 11.18 beta 2 with it showing)  or will it get moved to a 11.19 beta?

Hi @garybidwell we will be releasing this feature set by regions over the next few weeks. As long as you are on 11.17.1+ as we make this available in regions, this feature will just show and be available for you. We will provide updates as new regions become available. Thank you!

It's great news, I'm seeing the Self Service+ option under Jamf Apps now in my 11.17.1 instance.

From what I understand if from the available documentation is that if the option is enabled is does the following:
a) Deletes the legacy Self Service.app from all devices
b) Sets the user Selff Service app to be the new Self Service+ app so all notification and redirections will go to this now

What it doesn't do by enabling is install the the new Self Servce+ app on each device - this still relies on a policy to install.

If so, when will Self Service+ be include as part of the MDM enrolment command? (so it doesn't need to install the old legacy Self Service only then immediately delete it).
Also if enabled; but the device doesn't have Self Service+ already, installed does it still go a head and delete it (leaving the device in a state with no Self Service app at all) or doest it do a basic validation ands skips deletion until the new Self Service+ app is present?

If in the meantime I need to make sure it is installed as soon as enrolment takes place (so apps like "SetUp Your Mac" can still be used) is adding it as a Enrolment Package in the Prestage the best course of action?

I can see it in my RC instance on 11.18 but my beta instance on 11.18 is still not showing the option in Jamf apps

Hi, That is correct, we enabled it only for RC instances and not the beta instances.

Hi,

I will try to answer your questions with the new auto deployment of Self Service+ enabled from Jamf Pro below:
a) legacy Self Service will be removed from device on next checkin

b) yes, on next checkin Self Service+ will be deployed and installed on the device, notifications will start to show in new app, legacy Self Service will be removed from the device.

When auto deployment is enabled, you will not need to use a policy to deploy and install Self Service+ on the device. You should be able to remove the existing policy that previously deployed Self Service+ on the device as a package.

The device will receive Self Service+ on next checkin and at that time the legacy Self Service will be removed. It will not remove legacy Self Service until Self Service+ has been deployed on the device.

Hope this helps answer your questions. Thanks!

Any timescales when beta instances will get the function?
