Our School District has implemented our virtual learning carts using the method @boberito posted. Which is probably the best bet if you don't want to manually set the names, I have a script that your techs can enter in a Computer Name through a text box during initial setup. We utilize that script for our MacBook Air and MacBook Pro deployment. 

There isn't a way to do this on the iPad side is there? That policy is brilliant but obviously can't run on mobile devices.
