newbie question... dashboard report "How many machines have 10.11?"



how can I create a dashboard report that shows me how many machines are running 10.xx

Make a smart-group, with criteria "Operating system like 10.11." (note the dot after the "11"). Check the box to show it on the dashboard and should be good to go.

My pleasure! You can use the same criteria ("like 10.11." if you need to limit any other smart groups to 10.11 (or .10, or .12, etc.). I had to use it within the past week to limit some of the newer iLife packages to OS 10.11 and above.
