Hi,

with MacOS 26 Tahoe Apple introduced the new Simplified Setup for Platform Single Sign-On. Both Jamf Pro and Jamf School support this new feature in theory, but I was not able to get it working with Jamf School using Microsoft Entra.

Jamf School support says that it should just simply work, but both Jamf and Microsoft say that it is not yet supported (see Jamf and Microsoft).

Has anybody been successful?

IDP’s like Microsoft and OKTA yet to provide support to this feature, Hope it will be available soon.

Is Simplified Setup for Platform Single Sign-On on MacOS 26 still not supported by Microsoft? Cannot really seem to find anything in their documentation.

Currently Simplified Setup via PSSO is only available on Okta. It is in closed preview at Microsoft (last I heard they intend to public preview early next year but don’t quote me on that).

The setup in Okta works very well (currently only supports password syncing mode). A reference is: https://iamse.blog/2025/10/16/farewell-complexity-platform-sso-simplified-setup-on-macos-26-powered-by-okta-and-jamf/

I’m guessing after 3 months EntraID still does not support Simplified Setup for Platform SSO?

Looks like Entra was added to the simplified setup prestage setting in jamf 11.26.0. We upgraded and are following the documentation. Still not working.

Company Portal (GA) doesn’t support it yet.  The preliminary alpha builds are out there for MS partners, but not publicly available yet to support this fully.

I see this was written 20 days ago. Any change in status? I find this foot dragging quite annoying.

I’ve been keeping a close eye on the Intune - In Development page that Microsoft occasionally updates.

As of last week or so, it is officially listed on that page:

In development - Microsoft Intune | Microsoft Learn

My understanding is the current blocking point is waiting for Company Portal (GA) to release an update compatible with it.

Prerequisites:

  • Before you enroll:
    • Create a settings catalog policy, and configure the Enable Registration During Setup setting and assign to the device via static group.
    • Deploy the Company Portal (5.2604.0 and newer is required) as a line-of-business app.
  • Devices must be enrolled through Apple Business Manager or Apple School Manager using ADE.
  • The ADE enrollment profile must be configured to use Setup Assistant with modern authentication and have the Await final configuration setting turned on.
