Hi Folks,
Has anyone had much success with packaging AutoCAD for mac? We are deploying it new in our mac environment and was wondering if anyone had any particular method of packaging, or was it just a straight forward capture with composer?
In our windows environment, AutoDesk provides their own packaging tool, to add preferences and licensing information.

I just successfully packaged and deployed AutoCAD 2013.
Start with a clean environment that has never had AutoCAD installed. Capture with Composer, then install AutoCAD. DO NOT OPEN AutoCAD! It changes the files that Composer captures, and the finished package will not install correctly. Do the second Capture. If you're building a package for OS X 10.8, you should get exactly what you need. But if you're building for 10.7, you may get some extra folders. The 3 folders you want in the package for 10.7 are: Applications, Library, and usr. If any other folders show up, you'll want to delete them. Then build the package. The resulting package should work for you.
Note: You have to create a different package for each version of OS X.
+23I tried 2014's Install autodesk Autocad 2014 for Mac.pkg file, just pushing through casper remote as-is and it installs fine, but won't launch. Splash screen opens up, says loading, and then closes. No errors, nothing in console. JSS 9.3, OS X 10.9.2
+23redid via your suggestion @vblessing - that seemed to work. course as soon as I launched it, it prompts for a patch, whhich also doesn't seem to want to be pushed through Casper. *sigh*. Time to repackage with the patch.
Do one of the following:
Click Package on toolbar.
Click File menu > Package Drawing.
At the Command prompt, enter ETRANSMIT.
The current drawing is added to the list of files to package.
To add files to the package:
Click the plus sign (+).
Browse to and select the files you want to include.
Click Open.
To remove files from the package:
Select the files you want to remove.
Click the minus sign (-).
Click Package Settings to specify more transmittal options that you want to use.
To specify the package type, select an option from the Package Type drop-down to create either a zip file or a folder.
To specify the DWG file format, select an option from the File Compatibility drop-down list.
Check any additional options as needed.
Click Done.
In the Package Notes text box, specify any additional comments to include in the report file.
Click Package Files.
Select the folder or enter the zip file name and location when prompted.
Enter your E-mail address. We'll send you an e-mail with instructions to reset your password.
